Saturday, October 3rd The Suitcase Junket and SIRSY Showtime: 7:30pm | Doors: 6:30pm $20 Advance Admission $25 at Door Exclusive Discount for Music-Makers with promo code! The Suitcase Junket — the intriguing songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Matt Lorenz — weds the sensibilities of early blues and rock ‘n’ roll, the improvisational spirit of jazz, and his love of Tom Waits to meticulous, cultured songcraft. Dubbed a “master of musical imagination” by NPR’s World Café Live and “astonishing” by WBUR Boston, Lorenz’s weathered, howl-flecked voice was described by Rochester City Newspaper as “a cross between Hound Dog Taylor and a Tuvan throat singer who has swallowed a bird.” The Boston Globe calls Sirsy “The little band with the big sound.” Fans call them “the little band with a big heart.” SIRSY plays heartfelt, soulful, electric folk rock with a charming intensity. Melanie Krahmer is on vocals, drums, keys, flute and melodica. Rich Libutti is on guitar, bass and nerdy jokes. Their songs are compelling, instantly relatable, and catchy as hell. The Times Union says “Sirsy’s clever, smart songs have more hooks than a tackle box”. Mel and Rich are also gifted storytellers and lovable nerds. They can somehow make an audience sing along, dance, laugh, and cry – all at the same show.
